This is not a movie review

Sundays are usually movie nights at the Perez household.

"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" was the chosen movie last Sunday night.

Though it's only a bootleg copy, the picture quality was the same as that of an original DVD. I'm not supporting piracy, but I couldn't pass up watching a movie that my friends gave great reviews to.

Back to the movie, it's only fiction, but it still scared the heck out of me. A lot of what-ifs popped into my head.

What if, shortly, man can come up with a virus/bacteria or whatever you may call it that can aid the evolution of apes, which some scientists say are humans' closest relatives?

What if science's tinkering with other species would result in humans being overpowered by a new, stronger, and smarter breed?

And what if a man becomes the slave and the guinea pig of the new dominant species?

Young golf prodigy Sean Dominique Granada's family wants him to enjoy every moment of each golf tournament to avoid pressure. Winning a crown is just an added bonus. From his parents, Chrisaram Villacrusis Granada and Leriza Yumang Granada to grandfather and coach Vic Granada, the eight-year-old has their full backing. Sean beating 13 other bets in his division to win the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier International last May 15 to 17 is another proud moment for their family. Still waiting for things to change

MANDALUYONG, Philippines-- As I write this post, it is already past 1 pm, April 2, here in Manila. It is hot and humid; the current temperature is 31 degrees Celsius but feels like 36. There is a 33 per cent chance of afternoon rain showers. I doubt it would happen.
